Join Us in Helping One of Our Own Fight Cancer

Standard

Longtime AVS member Julie Loveless was recently diagnosed with recurrent stage IV breast cancer. We are holding a fundraiser (spaghetti dinner, auction and live music) to help her offset her medical, travel and living expenses as she wages war on cancer once again.

Julie is brilliant, generous, hardworking, witty as hell, brave, a fantastic mother to young Emma, and has OFTEN done nice things for AVS (she brought us an Indian feast one time for like $5 per person; she signed up Mela as a vegdiscount partner; she has hosted us in the restaurant and made sure there were extra vegan options and she has lit up our events with her friendly smile many times).

If you can’t make the event (but we so hope that you can!) PLEASE consider making a donation by clicking here.

COST at the door is $15 suggested (but we are happy to take more!) and that includes dinner and live music by awesome vegan musician Christy Snow! She’ll be releasing a new CD at the party and a portion of proceeds will benefit Julie.

As far as food, Joe will be donating the supplies for the spaghetti and “meat” ball dinner (salad, bread and iced tea too) but if anyone would like to pitch in for cooking duties, please email veggieville@aol.com.

We will also be doing a live art action with some UHMAZING pieces with low minimum bids as well as a silent auction for other goodies! If you’d like to donate anything, please let us know (we are off to a good start by the way!) Items and photos will be posted ahead of time.

The event starts at 6 p.m. on Friday, January 16, at THE BLOCK off biltmore (39 S Market St) and everyone is welcome! Suggested donation is $15 at the door.
